THEY won My Kitchen Rules and gave up their finance jobs. Now Will and Steve hope to prove their “foodie” credibility with a string of new projects.

Steve Flood, 33, of Manly, and Will Stewart, 38, of Mosman, said they had a growing global fan base around their “Will and Steve’’ brand and were recognised wherever they went in the world, after the TV show was screened in many countries.

“It’s crazy,” said Stewart, who is married to Maggie.

“I was recognised at The Standard Hotel in New York, at New Year when I was at The Shard in London and even in the middle of nowhere while walking in the drizzle in the Yorkshire Dales, when two girls stopped me and asked for a selfie.”

After winning the show in 2015, the British-born friends who met while working in the finance sector, have worked hard at carving out a career in the food industry.

Their cookbook, Will And Steve, Home Cook, Aspiring Chef hits the shops within weeks.

Flood said the book had an initial print run of 25,000 and there had been pre-orders from fans across the world, including the UK, India, Italy and Canada.

The pair will be supporting the book, which has more than 100 recipes, with a 12-stop tour of Australia doing book signings and cookery demonstrations, starting next month.

In December they are launching a new product which they hope will be sold in bars, hotels and planes called Social T, a sparkling green fruit tea, a clean alternative non-alcoholic drink.

Next year they plan to open a string of artisan pizza bars along the eastern seaboard, with hopefully an outlet at Warringah Mall.

Flood said they were also ambassadors for four charities and aimed to give at least 25 per cent of their time to helping charities or giving back to the community.

Eventually they would like to launch a Jamie Oliver-style program to help people who are struggling or from troubled backgrounds the chance to work in the food industry, by training them and giving them jobs in one of the pizzerias.

“We feel so lucky to be in the position we are so, if we can, help (those) less fortunate,” he said.

The book will be published by Harlequin in October.
