Michael Slater: Cricket great hit with new assault and threaten charges on northern beaches
Cricketing great Michael Slater has been charged with new assault charges after an alleged attack on a man on the northern beaches.

Australian cricket great Michael Slater has been hit with fresh charges of assault.
Slater 52, allegedly assaulted a man twice at Frenchs Forest on July 18.
Manly Local Court heard on Wednesday that the former test opening batsman and long time cricket commentator also allegedly threatened the same man on the same day.
Slater, who was not in court, is facing two new counts of common assault and one count of attempt to stalk or intimidate intend fear of physical or mental harm.
His solicitor, James McLoughlin, said Slater would plead not guilty to all the new charges.
Mr McLoughlin said Slater was not on bail for the new charges.
In a document tendered to ocurt police alleged that Slater assaulted the man “between 8.30am and 3pm” on July 18.
The new offences allegedly occurred four days after Slater was arrested at his Manly apartment on July 14 for allegedly breaching previous bail conditions.
Police rushed to his home after concerns for his welfare.
After they arrived, they called an ambulance that took Slater to Northern Beaches Hospital. He remained in hospital until he was taken to Manly police station and charged with breaching his bail.
He was granted strict conditional bail in Manly Local Court, meaning he must stay away from alcohol and drugs, and be of good behaviour.
Mr Slater is also banned from contacting a number of complainants who have apprehended violence orders against him.
He was previously charged in May with assault and stalking/intimidating a 35-year-old woman following an alleged incident in manly on April 26. He has pleaded not guilty to those charges.
Charges relating to a separate domestic violence incident in 2021 were dismissed, on mental health grounds, in Waverley Local Court earlier this year.
The Manly Court Registrar adjourned the latest matters to Manly Local Court on October 12 and ordered that a brief of evidence be served by September 28.
Slater will return to court to fight the charges, laid in May, in January next year.
