Manly woman, 66, charged with drink driving allegedly drives herself home from police station
Cops on the northern beaches were shocked when a woman, who they had just charged with drink driving, walked out of Manly police station and allegedly drove herself home.

A woman was arrested twice within 45 minutes for drink-driving on the northern beaches.
The woman, 66 was hit with a string of offences after allegedly getting back into her car and driving home moments after walking out of Manly police station, where she had just blown 0.131 on the breathalyser.
Northern Beaches Highway Patrol officers pulled the woman over at 8.25pm on Wednesday after they saw a Mazda CX-5 swerving in and out of lanes on Whistler St, Manly, near the intersection with Belgrave St.
After a positive road side breath test the woman was taken to Manly police station, less than 200m away. He car was left parked nearby.
The woman was given a breath test at the police station where she allegedly recorded a reading of 0.131.
She was then charged with mid-range drink driving and her licence immediately suspended pending her appearance in Manly Local Court in June.
Police said the woman left the police station just before 9.15pm.
“But when the two arresting officers left the station a few minutes later, they noticed the woman’s car was missing from where it had been parked,” a police spokesman said.
“The Highway Patrol officers drove immediately to her residence in Manly and asked the intoxicated woman how she had returned home.”
Police allege she admitted to the officers that she drove herself home.
The officers immediately confiscated her car keys and told her she would be also charged with
driving whilst suspended and driving under the influence of alcohol, in addition to the original mid-range drink driving charge.
