A new opening date for Fratelli Fresh in Manly has been set, after the original one in April was postponed due to the coronavirus crisis.
The Italian chain restaurant, employing 65 staff, will now open on July 1.
It will take a prime corner spot in the former Criniti’s site on West Esplanade.
The popular chain of restaurants is owned by the Rockpool Dining Group.
On Thursday it also announced another of its venues The Bavarian, on Manly Wharf, will re-open on June 24.
The group’s other offerings in Manly, Sake and El Camino Cantina have already reopened.
Rockpool Dining Group chief executive officer Thomas Pash said there was exceptionally strong demand for bookings at the 13 restaurants that reopened last week, with most venues hitting capacity restraints each day and accommodating three to five sittings daily, at the restricted level.
“Demand for dining out currently outstrips supply in Sydney, which has spurred us on to re-open more restaurants, underscored with our safe-dining pledge to guests,” Mr Pash said.
“We will continue to phase openings by at least two weeks to assess demand and make sure we don’t get too far in front of the return to normal dining patterns, which may differ across the states.
“However, the signs are extremely positive, restaurants are clearly luring diners out of their homes, and playing a crucial role in reigniting the Australian economy.”
Rockpool Dining Group expects to have reopened around 30 restaurants across NSW, Queensland, and Victoria by the end for June.
