A MAN has been left covered in blood after scrambling up rocks to escape what his friend said was a great white shark.

Abraham Munoz, 26, from Manly and pal Jordan Timm, 20, from Collaroy were leaping from Jump Rock at Collins beach at Little Manly on Thursday afternoon.

Chilean Abraham Munoz, 26, was covered in blood from the rocks he scaled to get out of the water as his pal Jordan shouted there was a shark.

Mr Timm had just filmed his friend jumping, and said he then looked up and saw the creature swimming towards Mr Munoz, who was still in the water.

The musician and barman who works at The Firehouse in North Sydney, said he started shouting for his friend to get out.

“Its fin wasn’t out of the water but when you’re five metres up and the water’s clear, it’s a clear outline.

“You could see the change from white to black on its body which is characteristic of a great white.

“I was shouting ‘Abraham get out get out’, he was like ‘no you’re joking’.

“As he started splashing, it started swimming towards him. I really thought it was going to be really bad.

“It was about 10m away, the closest it got was probably five metres.

“I’m 6ft2ins and I reckon it would’ve been at least my size.”

Mr Munoz, who works at the Q Station, said: “Because of the rock there’s a special way to climb, because I was in a rush I got cuts on my hands,” he said.

“It’s crazy I can’t even believe it.”

The spot is the same one where a video of a ‘great white shark’ swimming away from a man was later revealed as fake.

The footage had more than 37m views after being posted online in June 2014.

But as reported in the Manly Daily, Caspar Mazzotti, aka Terry Tufferson, who starred in the clip and filmed the Manly scenes revealed how he cleverly edited footage together to make it believeable.

Dave Christison, from the Woolshed Co behind the video, said the project was part of a two-year social experiment exploring the phenomenon of ‘viral’ videos and shareable content.
