A MAN who allegedly stole a bag from a woman at Manly at 5.20am on Friday ended up with her lunch and three charges that will see him in court.
A 31-year-old Elanora Heights woman was walking east on Sydney Rd towards Belgrave St when the man ran up behind her and yelled at her.
Police said the man allegedly demanded the woman’s bag and then grabbed it from her, before running away.
But a witness to the incident chased the man and grabbed his wrist to restrain him.
The police arrived and saw the pair struggling and arrested the man who had allegedly stolen the woman’s bag, which contained only her lunch.
The 47-year-old man was arrested and taken to Manly police station, where he was charged with assault, robbery and stealing from a person.
