Lindsay Moody: More charges against man police allege stalked women on northern beaches

A labourer, who was arrested last month, is facing 52 charges after 10 more woman came forward to report acts allegedly made on the northern beaches and north shore over the last two years.

An alleged northern beaches “flasher” is now facing a total of 52 charges after more alleged female victims came forward to police following his arrest early last month, a court heard.

Lindsay Kenneth Moody, 42, was charged on September 3 with 39 offences against dozens of women including 34 relating to stalking/intimidate intend fear, physical harm and five counts of carry out sexual act with another without consent.

Since Moody, a builders labourer from Frenchs Forest, was charged, another 10 alleged victims, including a 16-year-old girl, contacted police.

Manly Local Court was told on Thursday that another 13 charges had been laid including one of sexually touch another person without their consent.

The court heard that Moody will face 11 more counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear, physical harm and one more count of carry out sexual act with another without consent.

Strike Force Graffias detectives in the Northern Beaches Police Area Command had been investigating certain acts Moody allegedly committed against women in public areas since late 2018.

Police said women had reported the offences occurring across the northern beaches including at Narrabeen, Belrose, Davidson, Dee Why, North Curl Curl and Frenchs Forest between December 2018 and September 1, 2020.

Documents tendered to court alleged some offences occurred near Narrabeen and Dee Why lagoons.

The latest charges relate to alleged offences carried out in Cammeray, Northbridge, Allambie Heights, Fairlight, Narrabeen, Belrose and Dee Why.

A court suppression order is in place to protect the identity of the complainants and an interim suppression order made in relation to specific details of the accused’s alleged “modus operandi” — the particular way or method of doing something.

Moody is currently in custody.

He is yet to make any formal pleas but his Legal Aid solicitor, Fiona Hadlington, told the court on Thursday that her client would “indicate pleas of guilty” to some of the charges.

Ms Hadlington said formal pleas would not be made until the outcome of representations to police in relation to a number of the charges was known.

The Magistrate ordered that Moody receive a psychiatric assessment and that he enter pleas when he next appears in court.

Lindsay Moody will be back before Manly Local Court on November 12.

He did not apply for bail
