Kristian Iemma: Cromer man, 19, in court for allegedly detaining woman without consent
Police had to stop a car on the northern beaches after a woman was allegedly held against her will after getting off a bus, a court was told.

The case of a man who allegedly abducted a young woman after she got off a night time northern beaches’ bus has been moved to the Sydney Downing Centre Local Court.
Kristian Iemma, 19, of Cromer, is alleged to have dragged the woman into a car at about 10.30pm “for his own gratification”.
Police will allege the woman, who Mr Iemma knows, twice tried to get away from him after he detained her without her consent at Newport on October 13.
Members of the public called police to report that a man was allegedly forcing a woman into a car in a car park soon after she got off a bus.
Police will allege that her clothing was ripped as she twice tried to get away from Mr Iemma.
The car allegedly left the car park with the woman inside, but was stopped by police soon after at Mona Vale.
Mr Iemma and the woman were then interviewed at Manly Police Station before he was charged with two counts of detain person with intent to obtain advantage.
Court papers said the advantage was “to control (the woman) for his own gratification”.
Mr Iemma was also charged with one count of domestic violence-related intimidation.
Magistrate Michelle Goodwin adjourned the matter to the Downing Centre Local Court on February 11 next year for charge certification.
As part of the charge certification process a senior prosecutor will review the brief of evidence served on Mr Iemma and confirm, or certify, that all, or some, of the charges will proceed.
Ms Goodwin continued Mr Iemma’s conditional bail. His father had to lodge a $5000 surety that would be forfeited if his son does not turn up for court.
No pleas have been entered.
