A landlord, 61, who groped two young female international visitors staying at his north shore boarding house, has been sentenced in a Sydney court.

One of the women said she was “immediately disgusted” after Ji Qing Liu, who owns the premises at Neutral Bay, kissed her on the neck, rubbed his hands up and down her back and asked for a massage.

Liu, of Beacon Hill, also grabbed the buttocks of another female and pushed his crotch into her tummy, Manly Local Court was told on Thursday.

He pleaded guilty to two counts of carry out sexual act with another without consent.

In a police facts sheet tendered to court, one of the victims, who can’t be named for legal reasons, told police that Liu used to regularly “hang around” the kitchen on the top floor of the two-level boarding house in Military Rd.

On March 21, 2021, Liu had a conversation with the woman in a hallway at the boarding house, where she told him that she worked as a masseuse at a large hotel.

Liu grabbed her hand, and pulled her in towards his body, according to the facts sheet.

He then put his arms around her and began rubbing his hands up and down her back before smelling her neck and then kissing it.

“(The victim), believed the accused wanted something sexual and felt immediately disgusted,” the fact sheet stated.

“She felt he couldn’t scream and pushed (Liu) away with her right hand.”

The woman moved out of the house soon after.

In July 2021, Liu groped a woman soon after he entered her room to change a light bulb, the court was told.

The second victim told police that as he went to leave the room, he grabbed the woman; s hand and pulled her towards his body.

He then hugged her and rubbed her back before grabbing both buttocks.

The woman said he then pushed his crotch towards her “belly” and “immediately felt fear”, according to the facts sheet.

She pushed him out of the room and locked the door.

In June 2023, Liu went to Chatswood police station here he was arrested and subsequently charged.

Magistrate Robyn Denes convicted Liu and handed him a two-year Community Correction Order and fined him $1500 for each of the two offences.
