A northern beaches man has been charged with possessing child abuse images.
Gregory Coupland, 52, allegedly had the material stored on his mobile phone and in the ‘cloud’ on the internet, according to documents tendered to Manly Local Court.
Mr Coupland of Forestville, is facing a total of four charges that will be prosecuted under Commonwealth legislation.
He was charged with one count of possess child abuse material and three counts of possess/control child abuse material – use carriage service.
He was not in court on Wednesday and is yet to enter a plea to any of the charges.
In court documents police alleged that on October 9 last year, at Forestville, Mr Coupland possessed child abuse material on his Samsung A13 mobile phone.
It will also be alleged that on the same date and location Mr Coupland possessed child abuse material in One Drive cloud storage; Terabox cloud storage and: IDrive cloud storage — all on his mobile phone.
Mr Coupland is on strict conditional bail. He is not allowed access to the internet, except for work purposes.
He is not allowed to access any social media networking site and is not to seek out, or be in, the company of children.
Mr Coupland cannot attend places “frequented by children” including playgrounds, video arcades or schools.
The matter was adjourned to the Downing Centre Local Court for charge certification on March 15.
