Elenor’s party at Old Manly Boatshed to bring needed help

She is one of the lovliest and most caring photographers you could meet and now her friends are showing their support.

Former Manly Daily photographer Elenor Tedenborg says she had fond memories of the paper in which she spent the first seven years of her photographic career.

Many readers will remember images by “The Swede”, either as subjects in front her lens or as consumers of this local rag. Now Ms Tedenborg is the subject of a new event – but it is no photo shoot.

It is a fundraiser to be held at the Old Manly Boatshed to help her family continue the fight against her breast cancer.

The event is on Friday, September 8, 6.30pm.

“It will be strange to be at your own fundraiser,” she said. “I am presently having radiation after having two bouts of chemo. At the moment it is localised, which I’m thankful for.”

The mother of two said she had learnt a lot during her cancer battle.

“I’ve learnt to appreciate what I have – my husband and my two boys,” she said. “I’ve also embarked on a whole new path of health and wellbeing and I’m enjoying sharing this.”

This time has also caused Ms Tedenborg to be a little less aggressive towards the accelerator pedal in her car.

“Many of us remember her as something of a lead foot,” one Manly Daily reporter said.

She described her time at the Daily as like being part of a big family. “It was a time when I would rather be at work than almost anywhere else,” she said. “I enjoyed it that much.”

While at the Daily she worked closely with other staff photographers including Martin Lange, Simon Cocksedge, Ros Canon, Renae Nowytarger, Annika Enderborg, Virginia Young and Simon Dean.

Included in the ticket price at the fundraiser at the Boatshed is two drinks at the bar, finger food, plus live music.
