OUTSPOKEN politician David Oldfield has revealed what he thought of his Hell’s Kitchen co-stars as the long-awaited reality show kicks off.
And he revealed it wasn’t kitchen boss, fierce British chef Marco Pierre White who he was most scared of — but a fellow contestant.
He said former Home and Away mum Debra Lawrance, who played Pippa is an ‘extraordinary” cook who had the other contestants quivering in their whites.
“She was without any question the person most to be feared,” said the One Nation co-founder from the northern beaches.
“At one stage we had to truss up and roast a chicken and the only person who’d ever done it before was Debra ... she’d probably done it 100 times before.
“She was 100% the most experienced. If you were up against Debra it was always ‘oh my God.”
Meanwhile Oldfield quashed rumours about his reported fall outs with Real Housewife of Melbourne’s Pettifleur Berenger on the show, which sees celebrities split into two teams to cook at ‘real’ restaurant — with the losing team having a team member eliminated.
He said he didn’t dislike the reality star — but found her ‘annoying and kind of odd.”
“She’s like a mosquito. She’s buzzing in your ear all the time,” he said.
“We needed to work as a team and Pettifleur always wanted to badger me with these unrelated questions about Lisa or about life, but at the same time you’d ask her a question like what did her husband do for a living, and she said: ‘I’m not going to tell you.”
Oldfield called Bachelorette star, Sam Frost “ sweet,” but said he felt sorry for her.
“To me seems to be one of those people that the media will spit out at some stage,” he said,
He was surprised to find Geordie Shore star Gary Gaz Beedle “intelligent and capable” while former NRL player Willie Mason also wasn’t what he expected.
“I found him actually to be a very nice fellow,” he said.
The Chase nerd Issa Shultz was “ a nice fellow and quirky,” he said, while he said he didn’t have much to do with the remaining two contestants, Jess Schultz and Candice Warner.
Meanwhile, he hopes to meet up with Pierre White in London.
“I loved talking to Marco. We are in a similar age bracket, we’re both focused on family and have an interest in history, especially military history, and we talked about that.”
“I didn’t find him any way difficult or tough. Working with Marco was a walk in the park.”
However he did take a swipe at his co-stars over their reaction to the firey chef.
“I fall into a scenario very easily of understanding there are people who are in charge, whereas some of them got very arcy. A few of them thought they were being treated like children. “Usually if you feel like that its because you are behaving like one.”
