Daniel Walker: Senior Sydney real estate exec to defend $720k dishonesty charges
A former senior real estate executive at a Sydney-based property company will defend charges he obtained more than $720,000 from the firm by allegedly “fraudulently altering bank details”.

A former senior executive at a Sydney-based international property company is set to defend charges he dishonestly obtained more than $720,000 from the firm by allegedly “fraudulently altering bank details”.
Daniel Walker, 37, of Surry Hills, who was a long-serving manager at Colliers International, was arrested in May last year.
Mr Walker was originally charged with two counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception.
He was granted bail by police and made his first appearance at Manly Local Court on July 6 last year.
On March 28 this year, the court heard that Mr Walker was now facing eight counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception.
Mr Walker again fronted Manly court on Thursday where he confirmed his not guilty pleas to all eight charges and asked that a date be set for a hearing.
Police will allege in court that Mr Walker dishonestly obtained eight separate money amounts ranging from as high as $357,808.92, through to the lowest at $10,000.
In documents tendered to court police alleged that Mr Walker obtained the money by “fraudulently altering bank details”.
The total allegedly dishonestly obtained was $720,811.84.
It will be alleged in court that all the alleged transactions occurred at North Sydney between January 2021 and March 2023.
After Mr Walker’s arrest Colliers International CEO Malcolm Tyson distributed an internal email to staff to advise that the allegation concerned “serious financial misconduct”.
The Australian newspaper reported in June last year that Mr Tyson alleged, in the staff email that charges against the executive “related to actions in breach of laws governing property professionals and Colliers’ corporate policies”.
Mr Walker’s hearing is set down for Manly Local Court on July 18.
