The total cases in NSW since the outbreak began on June 16 has reached 195.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian the latest update was a “cause of concern”.

“We can’t afford to have people continue to have the virus going about their business. We cannot continue to allow that to happen.

“In too many examples we are seeing workers who are leaving the house with symptoms or going to work with symptoms,” Ms Berejiklian said.

“Then inadvertently as they are going about shopping or other activity, they are passing it onto others.”

In December last year and into January this year thousands of people on the northern beaches were subjected to strict lockdown conditions after a COVID breakout at Avalon Beach.

Businesses and residents south of the bridge over Narrabeen Lagoon were locked down for two weeks over the festive period, while those north of the bridge were in lockdown for three weeks.
