A northern beaches private school teacher was seen to hit a concrete median strip and swerved all over a highway before she blew more than three times the legal alcohol limit.

Brigitta Williams, 33, pleaded guilty at Downing Centre Local Court to high range drink driving after she was caught in the act by Highway Patrol officers.

Agreed police facts reveal the Allambie Heights woman was driving a Subaru Tribeca on the Princes Hwy at Ulladulla in the early hours of October 7 when she was busted.

“Police observed the vehicle to veer to the right and travel up the raised concrete centre median strip near Watson St,” the facts state.

“As the vehicle came back within its lane, police observed the vehicle swerving with its lane a number of times.”

When officers pulled Williams over, she was holding her mobile phone and not wearing glasses or contacts per the conditions of her licence.

“Police questioned the accused about using her phone while driving, to which she replied ‘I know I was literally trying to find somewhere that’s open’,” the facts state.

A roadside breath test returned a positive result, and a breath analysis at the police station returned a high range result of 0.178.

“She admitted to consuming six glasses of champagne and red wine between 5pm and 9.30pm on October 6, (and) she ate Chinese for dinner,” the facts state.

“The accused was talkative, kept apologising, had a loss of emotional control by breaking out in tears, her eyes were watery, glazed and bloodshot, her speech was slurred and fast, and she was clumsy and unsteady on her feet.”

At Downing Centre Local Court, Williams’ solicitor Ben Goh told the court she had no criminal record and was a teacher at a school identified as St Augustine’s.

The court also heard Williams had been fined at the time for using her mobile phone and driving without her glasses or contacts.

Magistrate Miranda Moody convicted her, fined her $770, and disqualified her from driving for six months with a two-year interlock licence to follow.
