White came to the attention of police after they pulled him over for driving while disqualified.

He was spotted leaving the driveway of the house behind the wheel of his Ford Falcon ute, even though he had his licence taken away by courts until June 2022 for a series of drink driving and drive while disqualified offences.

White has pleaded guilty to one count of cultivate prohibited plant (more than small and less than indictable quantity); two counts of possess prohibited drug and two counts of drive motor vehicle during disqualification period.

In a facts sheet tendered to the court on Wednesday police stated that White had a poor driving record that included, in the past five years, three drink driving convictions and two convictions for driving while disqualified.

He was stopped by police near his home at 8.05am on February 5 while driving on Timaru St.

At 8.20am, police with a search warrant, went to his home where he told officers he was growing a number of cannabis plants and that he had dried cannabis leaf and seeds in his bedroom.

White handed over two resealable bags containing the leaf and the container of seeds.

“At the rear of the property police located nine cannabis plants in individual pots, averaging one metre in height,” according to the facts sheet.

“On the eastern side of the property police located a further 30 cannabis plants, also averaging one metre in height.”

Court documents also showed he was charged with driving while disqualified at Beacon Hill last year.

Magistrate Bruce Williams ordered that a pre-sentence report be completed and adjourned the matter for sentence in Manly Local Court on April 7.
