A NORTHERN beaches schoolboy has landed the perfect job — making slime.
Connor Phillips, 12, from Fairlight, has turned his hobby into a business and is selling pots of homemade slime at Humphreys in Manly.
“You can stretch it, twist it, pop and squeeze it,” said Connor, who has already sold more than 80 pots of his product The Lonely Slime.
He said playing with slime was fun, but also therapeutic and relaxing.
His love of all things slimy started two months ago when kids at his primary school started making it.
And, he thought he’d give it a try too.
“I googled how to make slime and started trying out recipes,” said Connor.
“I perfected my own and now have a range of slime in different colours and textures.”
His proud mum Jody, 51, who is self-employed business consultant, said Connor had already learnt a lot about running a business and was keeping a record of his costs for the ingredients, packaging and labels and the profits.
“I think it’s a great experience for him and we are grateful to Humphreys for the opportunity,” she said.
“Connor had the biggest smile on his face when they told him they wanted to stock his slime.”
But, she said the downside was that the home office had been turned into a slime lab.
Connor said while he loved slime and running his own business, his dream was to become a professional soccer player.
The Lonely Slime is priced at $4.99 for a small tub and $9.99 for a large tub is marketed at kids five and over.
