Hsiu ‘Jason’ Kuo: Body of missing man found in Dee Why six months after disappearing

A man who disappeared after leaving a popular drinking spot has been found dead on the northern beaches. It remains unclear how his body ended up next to a lagoon.

The body of a man has been found on the northern beaches.

Police say it is that of missing man Hsiu ‘Jason’ Kuo, 82, last seen leaving the Manly Leagues Club in Brookvale at around 10.20pm on July 20 last year.

At the time of his disappearance they released CCTV vision of the man leaving the premises on Pittwater Rd, as part of a series of public appeals to help locate him.

His family reported him missing to police when he failed to return to his home in Neutral Bay.

The elderly man was understood to have dementia.

Despite numerous appeals police were unable to locate him.

However, at 11.30am on Friday, a member of the public discovered his body on the shore of Dee Why Lagoon.

The lagoon is around 3km from where Mr Kuo was last seen.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

Police said the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.

They thanked the public and media for their assistance.
