A man was killed when a motorcycle left the road and hit a tree on Sydney’s northern beaches on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Belrose after triple-0 calls about a motorcycle crashing off an exit ramp from Mona Vale Rd, leading to Narabang Way.

Despite the best efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics and a CareFlight rescue helicopter medical team, a man, 51, died at the scene.

The motorcycle was found part of a way up an embankment.

The crash occurred within the Belrose industrial area at about 1.30pm.

Northern Beaches Police set up a crime scene to help investigate circumstances surrounding the crash.

The Narabang Way exit off Mona Vale Road was been closed for several hours.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
