FEELIN’ hot, hot, hot? Well you’ll need to keep your swimmers handy for at least a few more days as the heatwave continues.
Tomorrow is tipped to be the hottest day of the week, with the mercury expected to tip 39C in Manly and a more respectable 37C in the city.
The hot weather will bring with it warm nights, before dropping slightly towards the end of the week thanks to a cool breeze.
Thursday will see the mercury dip to a respectable 25C.
Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Peter Zmijewski said Thursday’s expected dip was due to a trough moving from north west to South east NSW bringing with it cooler air.
“As it moves, it will be getting milder air behind it and ahead of it,” Mr Zmijewski said.
Friday and Saturday will bring more sunny beach weather, with temperatures of 31C forecast for Friday and Saturday.
Mr Zmijewski said the warm conditions were “more or less average for the time of year.”
Sunday will bring further cooler temperatures as a sea breeze comes in to effect. ”A trough and onshore winds will bring relief,” Mr Zmijewski said.
The Bureau has warned that northern NSW that will bear the brunt of the state’s hot weather, with extreme heatwave conditions forecast.
And while the sunny weather will provide optimum conditions for splashing around in the sea, the Bureau of Meteorology has warned people to take care in the heat.
