Assault charge for Narrabeen man who allegedly spat on a B-Line bus driver
A man who allegedly spat on a bus driver who told him to tap on to a B-Line bus on the northern beaches has been charged with assault.

A man who allegedly spat on a bus driver who had ordered him off a B-Line bus for not paying his fare has been arrested.
The man, 41, from Narrabeen, is facing a string of charges after the alleged incident aboard the bus that stopped to pick him up on Condamine St at Manly Vale.
Transport authorities immediately ordered the bus off the road for a thorough clean amid concerns related to the COVID-19 emergency. The driver received a medical check.
Police said that after the man boarded the bus on Monday, April 6, and was asked by the driver to “tap on”, the man allegedly refused.
When the man was repeatedly asked by the driver to get off the bus, the man allegedly began swearing and coughing before spitting on the driver and running off.
Police seized a drink container allegedly left behind by the man and examined CCTV footage from a camera on board the bus.
Just before midnight on Wednesday police patrolling Manly saw the man near Manly police station.
Officers allegedly found him in possession of a knife; restricted medication not prescribed for him and; a credit card that did belong to him.
The man was charged with one count each of common assault; behave in an offensive manner; goods in custody; possess knife in a public place; possess prescribed restricted substance and; travel/attempt to travel without valid ticket.
He will appear in Manly Local Court on July 1.
