UPDATE

A man imprisoned for more than a year for sending revenge porn of a woman to another man on Facebook will appeal his sentence in court.

Andreau Serra, 31, pleaded guilty to five charges in the Local Court late last year including intentionally distributing an intimate image without consent and stalking or intimidating.

Court documents reveal he harassed and even threatened the woman over text messages and over social media, in one text saying: “Call me today or I promise I will be an absolute nightmare and f*** up everything and everyone you are close to”.

He also sent a video of them having sex to a man known to the victim - without the victim’s consent - over Facebook.

The Cromer man was sentenced to a maximum of 18 months in prison, with a non-parole period of 12 months, in the Local Court in January.

He has now appealed the severity of his sentence in the District Court.

Serra appeared on video from custody to the Downing Centre District Court on Tuesday.

Representing himself, he asked for the appeal matter to be adjourned so that he could seek legal representation, but told the court he wished to continue with the appeal.

The matter was adjourned for two weeks.

“Call me today or I promise I will be a absolute nightmare and f*** up everything and everyone you are close to,” one text message read.

He also sent a video of them having sex to a man known to the victim in May on Facebook.

After sharing the explicit video, without the victim’s consent, the agreed facts stated he messaged the victim: “Hope my lil video … wasn’t too hardcore. I thought it was tame.”

He also sent another video to the victim appearing to burn a pair of her Adidas sneakers.

“Gonna cremate your shoes and send it to ya in a coke can s***,” he wrote in a message.

Magistrate Robert Williams accepted his pleas of guilty and he will appear back in court in January for sentence.

Meanwhile, five charges were withdrawn and dismissed on Thursday at Central Local Court including intentionally record intimate image without consent.

Serra, who appeared in court on audio visual link in his prison greens, did not apply for bail.
