$55,000 cash, bags of white powder and mobile phones seized in search of property, say police

A FRESHWATER man was allegedly caught selling ­cocaine to another man on Friday afternoon and police allegedly found cash, ­cocaine and mobile phones when they searched his car.

A FRESHWATER man was allegedly caught selling ­cocaine to another man on Friday afternoon and police allegedly found cash, ­cocaine and mobile phones when they searched his car.

And when police later raided the man’s home in ­Ronald Ave at Freshwater they allegedly found another 32g of cocaine and more than $55,000 in cash.

Northern Beaches Police crime manager Inspector Craig Wonders said members of the command’s proactive crime team allegedly saw a drug deal between two men being transacted on Undercliff Rd at Freshwater at 2.30pm on Friday.

A search of the 48-year-old Freshwater man’s car allegedly located cash, 23 small bags containing white powder suspected of being ­cocaine and mobile phones.

A search of the other man’s car also allegedly ­located cash, four small bags of a white powder suspected of being cocaine and mobile phones. The white powder has been sent for analysis.

A search warrant was then executed at a home in Ronald Ave, Freshwater, where police allegedly found 32 grams of cocaine and more than $55,000 cash.

All items were seized for forensic analysis.

The Freshwater man was taken to Manly police station and charged with three counts of supplying a prohibited drug and also with dealing with property suspected of being proceeds of crime.

The other man was ­released pending further ­inquiries.

Insp Wonders said investigations into the activities of the two men were continuing.

“The northern beaches is fortunate to have a dedicated and experienced complement of police that have made excellent inroads into the drug trade in the area and will continue to target suppliers and users of drugs, particularly cocaine and ice,” he said.
