Woman allegedly ‘punched in face’ in daylight robbery in Airds

A woman was allegedly attacked and robbed by two men in broad daylight in Sydney’s southwest. Here’s what we know.

A woman was allegedly attacked and robbed by two men in broad daylight in Sydney’s southwest.

The 46-year-old woman was walking in an alleyway between Hazeldean Way and Peppin Crescent in Airds, when she was approached by two men who allegedly demanded her handbag.

Police said she was then allegedly punched in the face by one of the men before they both fled into nearby bushland near Kentlyn on Thursday about 2.30pm.

The woman suffered bruising to her face and knees which paramedics treated at the scene.

A police helicopter and multiple police cars were reportedly searching from Georges River Rd in Airds towards Minto to locate the men involved.

The two men are described as caucasian in appearance, with one man dressed in a red hooded jumper, black sunglasses, blue tracksuit pants and black sneakers.

The other man was said to be wearing a white T-shirt, black tracksuit pants and white sneakers.

Police have been unable to locate the men and are continuing their investigations.
