One of the Camden area’s most popular youth haunts has been repeatedly vandalised in recent weeks, with vile taunts and offensive language defacing the facility.
Two toilet blocks at Mt Annan’s Birriwa Reserve, home of the three-year-old outdoor youth space, has been defiled with graffiti tags such as “f**k the cops” and “sl*t” on the inside and outside walls.
The vandalism has been removed a number of times at a cost to Camden Council, but the graffiti has reappeared each time.
The culprit, or culprits, have grown increasingly cocky, tagging “good luck with the scrubbing” on the walls.
The malicious vandalism has been taking place for six weeks.
Camden Police Area Command recently made a plea on social media for community vigilance to help halt the offenders.
“If you see something suspicious please let police know,” the post stated, in all caps.
“Malicious damage to our local toilets recently. We need your help.”
If you witness potential anti-social behaviour in the area, please contact Camden Police Area Command on 4632 4499.
