Boy, man taken to Liverpool Hospital after Horningsea Park stabbing

Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a stabbing in southwest Sydney after a man was left in a serious condition following a knifing.

A 17-year-old boy was rushed to hospital in a serious condition after he was stabbed in the torso at Horningsea Park on Monday.

Emergency services were called to Taubman Drive just after 5am after reports of a knifing to the teenager while a 21-year-old man was taken to hospital with a cut over his eyebrow.

Both received stitches and have been released from Liverpool Hospital.

NSW Police set up a crime scene at Taubman Drive, Horningsea Park, after a stabbing.

“Police have been told neither injury was considered life-threatening,’’ police said in a statement.

“Police are looking for a third man and have been told the men are known to each other.”

A NSW Ambulance spokesman said three crews were sent to the scene where they found two patients on arrival.

“There was one male with a laceration to the face and he was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition,” the spokesman said.

“There was one with a stab wound to the abdomen and he was taken to the same hospital in a serious condition.

Police at the scene this morning.

“Both were in their 20s.”

A neighbour, who preferred to remain anonymous, said she only knew something had happened when police knocked on her door.

She said there had never been an issue like that on the street for years and it was a “pretty quiet” neighbourhood.

“I didn’t hear a single thing,” she said.

“I was so confused when I saw all the police this morning.

“I was thinking ‘What has happened here?’. They told me there was something at 5am but I was fast asleep.”

The woman said it was the sort of area where neighbours were always friendly and said hello and good morning to each other.
