Thousands of people pack into Minto's Coronation Park for NSW Netball State Age Championships

One of the biggest single sporting events in the southern hemisphere packed into the courts of Minto's Coronation Park on the weekend.

One of the biggest single sporting events in the southern hemisphere packed into the courts of Minto's Coronation Park on the weekend.

The 2013 NSW Netball State Age Championships brought 155 teams across 16 divisions, ranging from under-12s to under-15s, as well as several thousand players, coaching staff, officials and spectators to the 40 courts at the Minto complex.

Campbelltown District Netball Association entered four teams in each age group of the championship division, and all retained the top-tier spots for next year's tournament - avoiding the bottom two relegation zone.

Association president Shirley Connolly said the tournament was a success.

"It was such a fantastic weekend with a high standard of netball and I was thrilled Campbelltown age groups stayed in the top level for next year," she said.

"We received so many compliments about the outstanding facilities at Coronation Park.

"I believe they are the best courts in NSW."

Mrs Connolly said Campbelltown Council provided outstanding assistance to combat the wet conditions.

"It was raining and muddy on Saturday and council came out first thing and swept it up," she said.
