Police have launched an investigation as a six-year-old boy remains in a serious condition after being hit by a car in southwest Sydney.

About 7pm on Saturday, emergency services responded to reports of a child being struck by a vehicle on The Kraal Drive, Blair Athol.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the boy at the scene before he was taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

On Tuesday, a NSW Police spokesman said the child remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

“The 17-year-old female driver and an 18-year-old female passenger were not injured,” he said.

“Officers from Campbelltown Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
