How do juries decide a verdict?

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly hit with a plank of wood while riding as a passenger before a brawl broke out at Oswald Reserve.

About 7.20pm on Friday, two trail bikes were seen riding in the vicinity of the Rosemeadow park.

Police have been told two teenagers on one of the bikes were in the vicinity of the carpark area of the reserve when a person allegedly swung a piece of timber at the rider and pillion passenger, hitting the passenger and causing her to fall off the bike.

Witnesses went to the aid of the injured girl, aged 17, and a verbal and physical altercation ensued between a number of people at the scene.

Officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command attended and arrested a 45-year-old man.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said the man was released without charges pending further inquiries.
