SYDNEY FC defender Matt Jurman will be no stranger to Campbelltown Sports Stadium when he takes on the Macarthur Rams in a pre-season friendly tomorrow (Wednesday) night.

The 23-year-old played at Campbelltown on several occasions with junior clubs Wollongong Wolves and Parramatta Eagles. He told the Macarthur Chronicle he was keen to face the Rams again.

"Campbelltown was always a really nice stadium and the pitch is in excellent condition at the moment so I'm looking forward to playing there again," he said.

The Australian under-20s and under-23s representative was raised in Wollongong, and praised the Macarthur region's pool of football talent.

"I've played against the Rams plenty of times with the Wolves and Parramatta and they were always a good test. There's a lot of good young players and they're very physical," he said.

"These friendlies are always really important, not just for us to prepare for the season but because there's a lot of Sydney FC fans in Macarthur. We have played at Campbelltown in the A-League season before so it's great to take the team out to or fans."

Jurman recently re-signed with the Sky Blues, with whom he won an A-League title in 2010, after two years with Brisbane Roar FC and will be among the showcase of new additions including Nick Carle, Pedj Bojic, Corey Gameiro and Mark Warren.

"We've made some good signings and I'm glad Campbelltown will be one of the first places to see the new members and it will be good to work on getting all the boys to gel as a team," he said.
