STUDENTS from across the Macarthur region will be among the 500,000 pupils across Australia singing the same song at 12.30pm on Thursday, October 31.
Students from St Thomas More Catholic Parish Primary School, St Gregory's College, St Patrick's College, Bradbury Public School and the Campbelltown/Camden District Seniors Band will participate in the "Music: Count Us In" program next week with a concert in the St Thomas More school hall.
St Patrick's music teacher Liz Samyia said the students were "buzzing" to be part of a national performance.
"We've got 120 students in Years 3-11 from four schools all excited to sing the same song at exactly the same time as their peers from around Australia," she said.
"The Campbelltown/Camden District Seniors Band is bringing a lot of exciting instruments to beef up the performance, which is cool.
"It's great to have senior students from St Patrick's and St Gregory's mentoring our younger students."
Elderslie and Picton high Schools will also participate.
Four students from across Australia wrote the song, Keep On, under the supervision of songwriter Katie Noonan.
St Patrick's College student Isabel Estephan was given a high commendation for her submission in the songwriting search. Renowned producer John Foreman produced the song and The Voice runner-up Darren Percival recorded it with students providing backing vocals and musical accompaniment.
