YOUNG, bright and gifted Year 6 students have shared their blissful plans and vision for the area if they were mayor for a day.
Ideas from light rail to youth play spaces were shared by the 17 budding minds as part of the Mayor for a Day public speaking competition.
Camden Mayor Lara Symkowiak said the annual event was a chance for young students to share their vision for the area.
“Each year our young students impress me with their ideas to improve our area, which is why we believe it is so important to provide a platform for our youth to have a voice,” she said.
“These are our future leaders, we are proud to help them thrive and connect to our community from a young age.”
The winner of the public school speaking competition was Mt Annan Public School’s Angela Khalil, who spoke of introducing disability centres, protection of the environment, sustainable living and a personalised light rail system.
