MACARTHUR region football fans will be glad Mt Annan resident Mark Bridge has re-signed with A-League grand finalists the Western Sydney Wanderers for three years.

The Wanderers' inaugural Player of the Year will remain with the club until the end of the 2016/17 A-League season.

The striker scored the Wanderers' first ever goal and his total of 11 goals and five goal assists helped the Wanderers to a 2012/2013 minor premiership victory.

Bridge was also instrumental in the debut club's finals campaign.

A proud product of western Sydney, Bridge said he was delighted to re-sign.

"Moving home to Western Sydney and playing for the Wanderers was one of the best decisions of my life," he said.

"This is a special club. From the coaching staff and the environment we work and train in to our incredible fans, being a Wanderer has made me a better player and a happier person."

Head coach Tony Popovic said the 27-year-old was part of the Wanderers' future.

"Mark has improved immeasurably in his first year at the Club," Popovic said.

"He is already showing in pre-season training his appetite to continue developing and improving as a player. He's a player we want to keep at the Club for a long time."
