St Helens Park: Police investigate robbery of car at Appin Rd service station

An investigation has been launched following reports a duo, armed with a knife and a tree branch, threatened a man and stole his car at a service station on Appin Rd, near Campbelltown.

An investigation has been launched following reports a duo, armed with a knife and a tree branch, threatened a man and stole his car at a service station in the Campbelltown area.

Police have been told about 1.30am on Monday two armed men broke into a service station on Appin Rd, St Helens Park.

A 61-year-old man – who was at the service centre as a customer – was threatened by the man with the knife before the pair stole his keys for his Mazda 2 hatchback and drove off.

No one was physically injured, and the car was later located abandoned a short distance away.

Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the incident.
