Hot and humid conditions greeted more than 200 athletes from NSW and Auckland, New Zealand, for the annual Little Athletics Trans Tasman Challenge at Campbelltown Athletics Centre on Sunday.
The competition rotates on an annual basis between Australia and New Zealand and has been running since 1977.
The Aucklanders have spent the week sightseeing and interacting with athletes from NSW.
While some athletes felt the conditions, the under-11 and 12 representative athletes all enjoyed the competition.
Little Athletics NSW competition and volunteer co-ordinator Diane Levy said it was the first time athletes in those age groups had competed against international competition.
“Everything ran smoothly and all the athletes enjoyed themselves,” she said.
