CALLUM Williams-Paroli is working hard towards his dream — to make it into a National Premier League team.

The Camden Tiger’s player was awarded Goalkeeper of the Year in 2016, and is this week’s nominee for the Macarthur Chronicle Local Sports Star award.

The Broughton Anglican College student started training when he was seven years old, and said he was most proud of building his goal-saving average up to 84 per cent last year.

“In 2016 I played up a division in the under-13s Camden Tiger Regional Team; I also played with the under-14 regional team when they needed a goal keeper and we won,” he said.

“My sporting role models are Gianluigi Buffon from Italy and Juventis and Ante Covic from the Western Sydney Wanderers and Perth Glory.

“I admire them as they have played for their country. I would like to become the goalkeeper for the Western Sydney Wanderers.”

As the captain for the Broughton Anglican College Year 6 team, Callum led the group to runner up in the Tiger Shield Competition and made the semi-finals of the Macarthur Football competition.

When he was just 12 years old, the Bradbury resident was named the number one goalkeeper for the Tigers in both the under-12s division one team and under-13s Regional Youth Team.

The Local Sports Star competition has five categories: Local Sports Star Individual, Local Sports Star Team, Young Sporting Spirit Individual, Young Sporting Spirit Team and Service to Sport.
