A southwest Sydney police officer faces allegations of stalking and accessing unauthorised material multiple times following the launch of an investigation that lasted six months.
Police from Campbelltown City Police Area Command commenced an investigation in December last year into allegations an officer had made unauthorised accesses to the force’s and Transport for NSW computer systems.
Following inquiries, a 36-year-old man was issued with a Future Court Attendance Notice on Tuesday for five counts of unauthorised access to/or modification of restricted data held in a computer and stalking or intimidation with intent to cause fear.
The man, a constable attached to a command within the South West Metropolitan Region, is due to appear in Campbelltown Local Court next Tuesday.
The officer’s employment status is under review.
