MACARTHUR Chronicle Junior Sports Star nominee Yarren Cabo didn't get to meet his hero, Sergio Aguero, while trialling for clubs in Argentina last year, but he did play with his younger brothers.

The Ingleburn teenager travelled to Argentina in 2012 to trial with Argentinian football clubs Independiente, Quilmes and Gimnasia.

While training with Gimnasia's Under-16s youth squad, Cabo said he was starstruck to play with the Manchester City striker's younger brothers.

"Sergio Aguero is one of my idols and to play with his younger brothers was amazing, and they look just like him," Yarren said.

But the 16-year-old won't be distracted when he returns to trial next month.

"The Gimnasia coach liked me and invited me back. I have family there so it will be great to keep training with them," he said.

To keep his skills sharp, the attacking midfielder will train five days a week and continue playing for the Bankstown City Lions Under-16s and Under-20s Premier League 2 teams.

The Mt Carmel Catholic High School student is no stranger to international football, having travelled to Britain in 2011 with the World Football Group, a Sydney-based youth touring squad. Cabo played against academies from English clubs Blackpool, Preston North End, Chelsea and Aston Villa.

He even got to watch his heroes, Aguero and Carlos Tevez, in a Champions League match between Manchester City and Villareal.

"It was incredible to see my team … in Europe's biggest league," he said.

The trip inspired Cabo to pursue a professional career. "I want to play football for a living," he said.

"It would be great to take Australian pathways like the Australian Institute of Sport."
