MOTORISTS are being advised about changed traffic conditions at one of the Macarthur area’s busiest intersections so investigation work can be carried out to improve travel times around Campbelltown.

The work, at the intersection of Narellan and Appin roads, will involve investigating ground conditions, underground utilities and stormwater drainage surveys.

A Roads and Maritime Services spokesman said the information would then be used to inform a detailed design to support improvements for drivings travelling the city.

To minimise the impact on drivers, work will be carried out for around 10 shifts until Friday, September 15, between 8pm and 5am, excluding Saturdays and weather permitting.

Traffic control and lane closures will be in place during this time.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.

The work is part of the NSW Government’s $300 million Urban Roads Pinch Point Program which aims to reduce congestion and improve travel times on Sydney’s busiest corridors.

“Roads and Maritime Services thanks the community for its patience while work is carried out,’’ the spokesman said.
