Publicity officer and Camden councillor Eva Campbell said she was impressed by the quality of work by both young and experienced artists at this year’s event.
“We had amazing success and I noticed a significant amount of young people attended or entered,” she said. “I think this year was outstanding.”
Castlereigh artist Julie Simmons took out a trifecta of awards at the event, winning the Bruce Ferguson open picture category, the water colour section and the overall winner.
Camden artists were also well represented, with Camden South resident Jane Wray winning the local artist section.
Elderslie mother and son duo Rizwana and Naseer Ahmad took out commended local artist and sculpture winner respectively.
Cr Campbell said young artists also showed great promise at the event.
The Marjory Baker memorial youth award was presented to Camille Gillyboeus, while Kiyara Grenfell and Lauren Pudsley were announced joint winners of the president’s youth encouragement award.
