Police injured during pursuit of stolen ute on Gregory Hills Drive

Two police officers were injured during a pursuit of a stolen ute at Gregory’s Hill overnight and two men have been arrested.

Two police officers were injured during a pursuit of a stolen ute at Gregory’s Hill overnight.

Police were patrolling Gregory Hills Drive at 2.15am this morning when they noticed a stolen Holden utility, but when they attempted to stop it, the ute accelerated away.

Police allege the utility continued east before turning left into Village Circuit but then suddenly veered to the right attempting a U-turn and collided with the police vehicle.

The ute accelerated away and struck a traffic control light at the intersection.

A 17-year-old boy was been taken to Narellan Police Station and is currently assisting with inquiries.

The driver of the car, a 21-year-old man has been taken to Campbelltown Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing and was treated for a hand injury.

A police officer injured her head in the collision and was treated at the scene before being taken to Campbelltown Hospital for observation. A second police officer was also taken to hospital for observation.

Investigations are continuing.
