The 600-student capacity primary school located in The Hermitage, at Gledswood Hills, is scheduled for completion in 2020.
Camden State Liberal MP Chris Patterson said the school would be a great asset for the Gledswood Hills community.
“I think the design of the school is going to fit into the estate well,” he said.
“The design takes into account sun, energy usage plus more, with the school not only aesthetically pleasing but also a well-throughout design for students and staff.”
Gledswood Hills Primary School is joined by neighbouring expansions to Oran Park primary and high schools, catering for the region’s growing population.
The area of Gregory Hills, Gledswood Hills and Leppington is the fastest growing in NSW, an Australian Bureau of Statistics report revealed earlier this year.
A new Narellan school for students with special needs is expected to open in 2019, on the site of the former Hope Anglican School.
The School for Specific Purposes will have 12 classes from Kindergarten to Year 12, with facilities including a hydrotherapy pool.
Mr Patterson said the Narellan school would be another welcome addition to the region.
