TWO fires are blazing in the Campbelltown area, with bushfires at St Helens Park and Macquarie Fields.
An eight hectare bushfire is out-of-control at St Helens Park Drive, St Helens Park, with Rural Fire Service and Fire and Rescue NSW crews at the scene.
A Rural Fire Service spokesman said two helicopters will attend the scene, to waterbomb the fire and provide intelligence.
He said no properties are under immediate threat and encouraged people to stay away from the area.
A spokesman for Fire and Rescue NSW said winds were driving the fire towards bushland at Wedderburn and four fire crews were working to bring the blaze under control.
Helicopters have been called in to gather more intelligence on the direction of the fire.
Additional crews have been called from Sutherland to assist with the Macquarie Fields blaze, which began shortly after 12pm.
The Fire and Rescue NSW spokesman said the Macquarie Fields fire was being brought under control.
“It was big but is well into being contained and the last update was that they expect to be on top of it within the hour,” he said.
Fire and Service NSW and Macarthur Rural Fire Service brigades are at the scene of the St Helens Park grassfire.
