A $53 million expansion of Oran Park’s Anglicare Chesalon retirement village has been given the green light, to feature 67 retirement villas and an 80-bed aged care home.
Anglicare general manager of property Peter Paltoo said the development will cater to the region’s current and future aged-care needs.
“Anglicare aims to establish an 80-bed residential care home, as well as 67 additional retirement living villas on the existing site of the Oran Park Village,” Mr Paltoo said.
“The new development will complete the village and deliver the residential (aged) care home,” he said.
“Co-locating our retirement living villas and residential aged care services ensures the present and future care needs of our residents can be met.
“There is a high number of people seeking aged care services in the community and several have expressed frustration at having to find care out of the local area.”
The extension, expected to create about 80 jobs, is anticipated to be completed during the next two years.
