THE transformation of Oran Park into a regional centre is one step closer, with a plans lodged for the first apartment complex in the suburb’s CBD.
A proposed $20 million, six-storey apartment complex, featuring 48 apartments, will be located 100m away from the earmarked train station and will be developed by the Greenfields Development Company.
Greenfields general manager Mick Owens said the proposed development is the next phase of fulfilling the vision of Oran Park.
“It’s all part of the town evolving,” he said.
“The vision is all about a mix of uses in the town centre, with retail, commercial and now residential, all making Oran Park a vibrant place.
“The apartments is all about providing a complete choice for how you want to live.”
The development will feature two levels of underground basement parking, an open roof top terrace and will include a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments.
Mr Owens said, although pricing is not yet been determined, he expects it to be affordable and attractive for families and young couples.
“We think there will be a good strong demand in the community, as it gives people an alternate housing choice,” he said.
The proposed development follows the plans for a six-storey commercial complex on Oran Park Drive, which, if approved, will be the tallest building in the Camden LGA.
Construction may begin on the residential development, pending approvals, by early 2019.
