Oran Park man allegedly caught drunk-riding trail bike with toddler by Macarthur Highway Patrol

A man, who had allegedly sunk six cans of beer, has been arrested after police say he was riding a trail bike with a toddler on his lap.

A man who was allegedly intoxicated while riding a trail bike with a toddler on his lap will face court next month.

Macarthur Highway Patrol spotted a man on an unregistered trail bike on Dick Johnson Dr at Oran Park about 6.45pm on Saturday.

Police allege he was not wearing a helmet and had his 18-month-old son on the bike at the time who was wearing only a bicycle helmet.

Officers directed the man to stop, he was arrested and taken to Narellan Police Station where his breath test results returned an alleged reading of 0.117.

He allegedly told police he had consumed six cans of beer in the hour and half prior.

In a statement, Traffic and Highway Patrol described his alleged actions as “ludicrous”.

The man was charged with a number of offences including unlicensed driving and driving with a mid-range concentration of alcohol.

The man is due to appear in Picton Court on March 2.

In its statement, Traffic and Highway Patrol said Family and Community Services had been notified of the incident.
