Oran Park Hotel has unveiled its completed $50m ‘mega-precinct’ with the opening of a luxurious rooftop bar.
Jinja Rooftop Bar opened its doors this week, marking the final jewel in the crown of southwest Sydney’s first entertainment precinct of this scale; promising to become the heart of the rapidly growing region’s social scene.
Spanning an enormous 7500sq m, the Momento Hospitality-owned development redefines the local pub experience blending entertainment, world-class dining and modern design into one dynamic space.
“We really wanted to build something that felt like a true centrepiece for the community … where they can come and connect for any special occasion,” Momento chief executive officer David Clifton said.
Mr Clifton said the hotel’s diverse offerings meant “there’s really something for everyone”.
As one of Sydney’s newest and fastest growing suburbs he said they wanted the venue to be “something that the town can grow around, and we can grow with it as well”.
The precinct features seven bars, a sun-drenched atrium with a retractable roof, an all-day bistro, Papi’s retro-style pizzeria, bottle shop, luxe event spaces, a ballroom and two boutique cinemas set to open mid-2025.
As the crown jewel, Jinja rooftop bar offers sweeping panoramic views, plush lounge seating, fireplaces, and an Asian-infusion menu with 28 dishes and signature cocktails.
Renowned executive chef Amelio Abouna said his inspiration for the menu was a combination of four cuisines, with “a bit of Japanese, a bit of Cantonese, bit of Thai with Vietnamese and Modern Australian twist”.
Menu highlights include his signature crispy lamb belly with jalapeños and coriander jam, and the Nutella spring roll for dessert.
Another one of Chef Amelio’s favourites is the barramundi dish at the bistro which is sourced from Cone Bay and served with Italian style peperonata. He recommends his signature dessert the tirapuccino which is a mascarpone mousse, hazelnut sponge, coffee syrup and espresso Swiss meringue to go along with it.
With 63 dishes on the menu downstairs, in addition to the dishes at Jinja and 26 different pizzas on offer, Mr Abouna is confident attendees both young and old will find “something tasty” to enjoy.
General Manager Salvatore Bellomo is in charge of running the expansive venue and said the community’s response had been extremely positive.
“The biggest thing is the ‘wow’ factor. They walk in and say, ‘what am I walking into?’ It’s just got this grand feel they,” he said.
Bellomo leads a team of over 130 staff — soon to hit 160 when the first floor is fully operational including the boutique cinemas.
“I always say, they don’t work for me, I work for them,” he said.
He hopes to host retro movie nights in the future to touch “heart strings of nostalgia within people”.
“You have a situation where a father and mother can bring their kids to a movie that they might have went to on their first date,” he said.
“To me, that’s an experience that you can provide, that no one else can do.”
