A boutique burger bar which holds competitions for foodies with whopping 2kg burgers has won the crown for best burger in Macarthur on National Burger Day.
OMC Burgers and Bar opened its doors in 2016 as the Orangeville Meat Co and has quickly grown to become a local favourite from its location in Gregory Hills.
The prized venue has receiving unwavering loyalty from the local community and is the place to be for burger lovers.
Owner George Assoni was excited by the news and said it was the business’ gourmet, fresh and authentic burgers that kept customers coming back for more.
“We have professional barbecue smokers and we’re some of the only people in the area that do true smoking,” Mr Assoni said.
“We smoke our beef brisket, the pork belly and some of the patties, and we smoke it and slow cook it overnight for 20 hours before serving.”
With a team of eight executive chefs, Mr Assoni said the quality and range of burgers at OMC Burgers & Bar is unmatched.
It offers customers over-the-top juicy burgers, always seeking out local produce for the wacky creations.
“Not many people have heard of us but once they come and try our food they’ll see it’s by far the most awesome burgers they’ll ever try,” he said.
“Our food is made by proper chefs not by a kid in a kitchen pressing a patty in a machine.”
OMC Burgers & Bar is so popular it even won a Sydney radio competition last year and voted the best burger joint in all of western Sydney.
Not only does the burger joint offer a range of delectable dishes, there’s also beer on tap and a range of craft beverages from independent brewers.
There is a new burger special each week, giving customers the chance to try something new.
To give back to the community and have a bit of fun Mr Assoni also runs a yearly “big mouth burger challenge” where 15 contestants try and devour a 2kg burger in 30 minutes.
On the evening of June 9, 15 people will try and tackle the monstrous 2kg burger in the allotted time-frame.
“I love doing things for the community, it’s just some fun to get people out of the house,” Mr Assoni said.
