“Communities have never seen investment in education like this before, including in high growth areas,’’ he said.

“Western Sydney alone is seeing an additional $2 billion investment in new works.’’

In other spending, work on the $740.0 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct will continue with construction on a carpark in this year’s budget.

The $632 million Campbelltown Hospital’s stage two development, to include paediatric and mental health services, will also continue over the next financial year.

Works will also continue for the $500,000 Shepherd Centre Facility.

A $1 billion allocation was set aside for Bradfield City Centre, Sydney’s “third city’’ to be created alongside the Western Sydney Airport.

Business Western Sydney executive director David Borger said attracting residents and businesses would be the key challenge for the greenfields site.
