New charges have been laid against two young sisters and one of their ex-partners over their alleged involvement in an home invasion in southwest Sydney.

Donning matching outfits, sisters Lara Buttriss and Grace Therese Buttriss fronted Picton Local Court on Friday where it was revealed they and their co-accused Matthew Bilotta faced new charges.

Earlier in the year, police alleged the young trio broke into a home on Onslow Ave in Camden at around 6.30pm on February 5 and assaulted the two residents.

It was alleged that during the fight Lara entered the home and wielded a hammer to attack the two male occupants of the house and cause them actual bodily harm.

All three accused were originally charged with aggravated break and enter to commit a serious indictable offence in company and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in the company of others.

However on Friday at Picton Local Court, a representative for the Director of Public Prosecutions said that the three charges would be withdrawn and new charges would be laid.

Grace has now been charged with aggravated break and enter to commit a serious indictable offence and intimidate the occupants.

While her sister Lara has been charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm relating to two people inside the home at the time.

Meanwhile, Mr Bilotta has been charged with common assault and doing an act intending to pervert the course of justice.

Police claim during the three days following the alleged attack, Mr Bilotta sought assistance from an unknown third party to have the two victims change their statements.

Earlier in the year, it was revealed police allege that they obtained a recording from an intercepted phone call of Mr Bilotta talking about trying to find a “standover man” to threaten and intimidate the witnesses and force them to withdraw their evidence.

Both Buttriss sisters remain in the community after being granted bail during their first appearance at Picton Court on February 8.

Court documents show Lara is a single mother and Grace is a disability worker who lives with her elder sister. Neither sister has a criminal record, according to the documents.

Mr Bilotta remains in custody on remand. The matter returns to Picton Local Court on October 14.
